Royal LePage Commercial: Built to Grow and Built to Last

Building on a 70-year legacy as an industry leader, Royal LePage Commercial is entering an ambitious new phase of growth. The division is investing in talent, technology and infrastructure to better support its national network of roughly 650 commercial brokerage professionals.

Royal LePage Commercial now offers a collaborative ecosystem designed to accelerate entrepreneur-led success. Moving away from legacy commercial models with high overhead and steep corporate splits, the division has adopted a transparent, agent-focused commission structure that enables top producers to retain more revenue and better future-proof their practices.

What we’ve accomplished in the first half of 2026

The momentum across the network has been unmistakable.

Demand for the 2026 Royal LePage Commercial Summit — a dedicated two-day national commercial conference held within Royal LePage’s National Sales Conference — was unprecedented. Tickets sold out in three minutes, prompting an immediate expansion that more than doubled the event’s original capacity. That response reinforced the strong energy building throughout the network.

Behind the scenes, Royal LePage Commercial has matched that enthusiasm with concrete structural work. Year to date, the division has taken several important steps:

  • Launched the National Commercial Advisory Council (NCAC): A first-of-its-kind advisory body that brings together senior commercial practitioners from across the country and across asset classes to inform and shape the national direction of the practice.
  • Published the 2026 Royal LePage Commercial Real Estate Report: A comprehensive national research publication offering data-rich analysis and market insights from Royal LePage Commercial experts in major Canadian markets and across commercial asset classes, produced internally and distributed across the network and industry.
  • Introduced a dedicated commercial training series: Led by industry veteran Georges Renaud, this series establishes a structured professional development pathway to deepen commercial real estate expertise among Royal LePage practitioners.
  • Revamped the intranet for commercial practitioners: A centralized internal platform now brings tools, resources and updates together in one cohesive space tailored to the workflows and needs of commercial specialists.
  • Launched the 2026 Royal LePage Commercial Summit: The summit brings commercial professionals from across Canada together for peer sharing, commercial programming, market discussions, and referral-building within the broader Royal LePage network.

Collectively, these initiatives underscore a sustained investment in strengthening Royal LePage Commercial as Canada’s leading national platform for commercial real estate professionals.

Where we’re headed

The next phase of development is focused squarely on quality. Royal LePage Commercial is investing in education, mentorship, marketing resources, deal support and industry-leading technologies to help practitioners elevate and grow their businesses across every part of the sector. The division is building capabilities that support stronger market knowledge and more consistent, elite client service.

“This new direction is about supporting independent practitioners with the brand power, network support, and resources needed to grow their own commercial business in every Canadian market,” said Matthew Zigelstein, Manager, Royal LePage Commercial Division. “The focus is on building clear development pathways, structured mentorship, and a consistent standard for what it means to be part of the Royal LePage Commercial brand. We’re taking a strong national network and creating a more connected, visible and strategically aligned commercial division.”

Central to this evolution is a deliberate growth strategy aimed at attracting and retaining high-quality professionals. That strategy includes expanding standalone commercial brokerages, building on the success of three existing operations: Royal LePage Commercial Westhaven in Toronto, Royal LePage Commercial East in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, and Royal LePage APM Commercial on Prince Edward Island. The approach ensures standalone operations, franchise partners and corporately owned brokerages alike receive national-level support to deliver consistently high-quality service.

“Royal LePage Commercial has always held a leadership position in Canadian commercial real estate, and we intend to keep raising the bar,” said Phil Soper, President and CEO of Royal LePage. “We are modernizing and strengthening our platform by investing heavily in specialized education, national collaboration, and practical, AI-driven tools that help entrepreneurial professionals build lasting businesses.

“Crucially, we are breaking away from traditional, house-heavy commercial operating models. We have built an environment that shifts equity back to the practitioner, rewarding client service and true entrepreneurship. This is a platform explicitly designed for where the industry is going next.”

This business is built for professionals who are serious about commercial real estate. The goal is clear: when a client, colleague or counterpart engages with someone from Royal LePage Commercial, they should immediately recognize the excellence and professionalism on offer. In close collaboration with the National Commercial Advisory Council, the division’s new direction will be driven by practitioner-led insights and the in-field experience of professionals operating across Canada.
