We faced significant hurdles, including the difficult decision to postpone our annual Charity Golf Tournament, a cornerstone of our fundraising efforts. However, we were incredibly pleased to adapt and successfully run a smaller, modified tournament, strictly adhering to all health and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of our participants.”

Denise Stahl, President and Founder of Dreams & Wishes Children’s Charity, highlighted the increased struggles brought on by the pandemic. “COVID-19 has severely impacted the families we serve, as well as our donor base,” Stahl explained. “Abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, substance abuse, and mental illness have all seen a distressing increase. Any funds raised by DRAR are directly channeled to children and their mothers within Durham Region shelters, providing immediate and tangible relief.”

• Luke’s Place

  Luke’s Place is a crucial resource for women and children who have experienced domestic violence. This organization provides essential legal information, support, and resources, empowering survivors to rebuild their lives free from abuse.
